Product Description

NEOPRENE (Chloroprene Rubber) — Product Overview

NEOPRENE is a versatile synthetic rubber developed in the early 20th century and validated through decades of use across thousands of industrial applications.
It was designed to overcome the limited oil resistance of natural rubber, and its unique property balance continues to support its global usage today.

Key Performance Features

  • Excellent oil & chemical resistance: Highly resistant to waxes, fats, lubricants, and most petroleum products

  • Good alkali and diluted acid/salt resistance

  • Weathering & ozone resistance: Long-term UV and environmental aging durability

  • Water resistance & burial durability: Does not corrode or degrade under long-term immersion or soil exposure

  • Stable mechanical strength: Strong bending, twisting, and compression-set resistance

Temperature Resistance

  • High-temperature: Continuous 80–95°C, intermittent up to 120°C

  • Does not melt under heat; excessive temperature may cause hardening or loss of elasticity

  • Low-temperature: Functional at –20°C to –25°C with minimal property change

  • Special grades operate in –55°C extreme cold

Typical Applications

  • Wire & cable jacketing

  • Industrial gaskets, hoses, belts, tapes

  • Construction sealants and structural bearing materials

  • Foam products (wetsuits, insulation pads)

  • Adhesives, coatings, and sealing compounds

  • Automotive, machinery, agricultural equipment components

  • Extruded and molded rubber products

  • Footwear, paper, and packaging applications
