Product Description

NEOPRENE (Chloroprene Rubber) Product Overview

NEOPRENE is a versatile synthetic rubber introduced in the early 20th century and validated through decades of industrial use.
Originally developed to overcome the oil-resistance limitations of natural rubber, its unique property balance keeps it widely used across many industries today.

Key Performance Features

  • Excellent oil & chemical resistance: Highly resistant to waxes, fats, lubricants, and most petroleum products

  • Good resistance to alkalis and diluted acids/salts: Stable in diluted mineral acids and inorganic salt solutions

  • Weather & ozone resistance: Long-term UV and environmental aging resistance with proper formulation

  • Water resistance & burial stability: Suitable for long-term water immersion or underground use without degradation

  • Stable physical strength: Good resistance to bending, twisting, and compression set

Temperature Range

  • High-temperature: Continuous 80–95°C, intermittent up to 120°C (depending on formulation)

  • Does not melt at high temperatures but may harden or lose elasticity if overheated

  • Low-temperature: Usable at –20°C to –25°C with minimal property change

  • Special grades can withstand –55°C extreme cold

Typical Applications

NEOPRENE is widely used in industrial, construction, transportation, electronics, and consumer products, including:

  • Wire & cable jacketing

  • Industrial gaskets, hoses, belts, tapes

  • Construction sealants and structural bearing pads

  • Foam products (wetsuits, insulation pads)

  • Adhesives, coatings, sealants

  • Automotive, machinery, agricultural equipment

  • Extruded and molded parts

  • Footwear, paper, and packaging products
