Product Description

NEOPRENE (Chloroprene Rubber) Product Overview

NEOPRENE is a versatile synthetic rubber introduced in the early 20th century and proven through decades of industrial use.
It was developed to overcome natural rubber’s limited oil resistance, and its unique balance of properties keeps it widely adopted across many industries today.

Key Performance Features

  • Excellent oil & chemical resistance: Highly resistant to waxes, fats, lubricants, and most petroleum products

  • Good resistance to alkalis and diluted acids/salts

  • Weathering & ozone resistance: Long-term UV and environmental aging stability

  • Water resistance & burial durability: No corrosion or degradation during long-term immersion or underground use

  • Stable mechanical strength: Strong resistance to bending, twisting, and compression set

Temperature Range

  • High-temperature: Continuous 80–95°C, intermittent up to 120°C

  • Does not melt at high temperatures; excessive heat may cause hardening or loss of elasticity

  • Low-temperature: Usable from –20°C to –25°C; special grades function at –55°C

Typical Applications

  • Wire & cable jacketing

  • Industrial gaskets, hoses, belts, tapes

  • Construction sealants and structural bearings

  • Foam products (wetsuits, insulation pads)

  • Adhesives, coatings, sealants

  • Automotive, machinery, and agricultural components

  • Extruded and molded products

  • Footwear, paper, and packaging products

WRT Grade

Comonomer: 2,3-dichloro-1,3-butadiene

Features

  • Excellent heat resistance; low-crystallization type

  • Mooney viscosity 41–45

  • Very slow crystallization rate

Applications

  • Electronic drive belts

  • Windshield wipers

  • Industrial rubber parts

  • Anti-abrasion rubber products
