ELVALOY AC® Acrylate Copolymer

ELVALOY AC® is Dow's family of ethylene copolymers. Depending on the comonomer, they include:

  • EMA: Ethylene–methyl acrylate copolymer

  • EEA: Ethylene–ethyl acrylate copolymer

  • EBA: Ethylene–butyl acrylate copolymer


Key Properties

  • High heat resistance: Processing temperatures up to 300 °C

  • Excellent compatibility: Contains both polar and non-polar functionalities; compatible with many polymers and suitable for high-frequency welding

  • Higher melting point: Ideal for end-use applications requiring elevated temperature performance

  • Outstanding flexibility: Remains flexible at low temperatures without plasticizers

  • Superior processability: Good colorability and filler acceptance; can be overmolded onto PC, PE, PP, PS, PA, PET, PMMA, ABS, and metals

  • Regulatory compliance: Selected grades are FDA-approved

  • Versatile processing: Suitable for injection molding, extrusion, blending, rotational molding, and more
