Product Description

Lubrizol ISOPLAST® Engineering Thermoplastic Polyurethane (ETPU)

ISOPLAST® is Lubrizol’s engineering-grade thermoplastic polyurethane (ETPU), combining the high strength and dimensional stability of amorphous resins with the chemical resistance and processability of semi-crystalline resins.

Product Types

  • Impact-resistant grades

  • High-transparency grades

  • Glass fiber reinforced grades

Glass fiber–filled grades are known for excellent transparency and high heat resistance, and are widely used in pneumatic tool components and truck oil filter bowls for leading global brands.

Key Advantages

  • Impact-resistant grades deliver exceptionally high real-world hardness for parts exposed to frequent and severe impact.

  • Transparent grades support injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding, balancing appearance and mechanical performance.

  • Glass fiber reinforced grades maintain good flow and processing efficiency even at fiber loadings up to 60%, offering a high-strength, cost-effective engineering plastic solution.

ISOPLAST® Processing Guidelines

  • Reduce shear and excessive heat

  • Use low back pressure

  • Use low injection speed

  • Shot size ≥ 25% of barrel capacity

  • Recommended compression ratio: 2.0:1–2.5:1

  • For long glass fiber grades, use a reverse barrel temperature profile

151EZ
