Product Description

NEOPRENE (Chloroprene Rubber) Product Overview

NEOPRENE is a versatile synthetic rubber introduced in the early 20th century and validated through decades of industrial use.
Developed to address natural rubber’s poor oil resistance, its balanced material properties keep it widely used worldwide across thousands of applications.

Key Performance Features

  • Excellent oil & chemical resistance: Strong resistance to waxes, fats, lubricants, and most petroleum products

  • Good resistance to alkalis and diluted acids/salts

  • Outstanding weathering & ozone resistance: Long-term UV and environmental aging durability

  • Water resistance & burial stability: No corrosion or degradation in long-term immersion or underground exposure

  • Stable mechanical strength: Excellent flex, twist, and compression-set resistance

Temperature Range

  • High-temperature: Continuous 80–95°C, intermittent up to 120°C

  • Does not melt; overheating may cause hardening or loss of elasticity

  • Low-temperature: Operates between –20°C and –25°C; special grades withstand –55°C

Typical Applications

  • Wire & cable jacketing

  • Industrial gaskets, hoses, belts, tapes

  • Construction sealants and structural bearings

  • Foam products (wetsuits, insulation pads)

  • Adhesives, coatings, sealants

  • Automotive, machinery, agriculture components

  • Extruded and molded products

  • Footwear, paper, packaging products
