Product Description

NEOPRENE (Chloroprene Rubber) Product Overview

NEOPRENE is a versatile synthetic rubber developed in the early 20th century and validated across decades of industrial applications.
Created to overcome natural rubber’s poor oil resistance, it remains widely used worldwide due to its well-balanced material properties.

Key Performance Features

  • Excellent oil & chemical resistance: Strong resistance to waxes, fats, lubricants, and most petroleum products

  • Good alkali and diluted acid/salt resistance

  • Outstanding weathering & ozone resistance: Long-term UV and aging durability

  • Water resistance & burial stability: No corrosion or degradation in long-term immersion or soil exposure

  • Stable mechanical strength: Excellent bending, twisting, and compression-set resistance

Temperature Range

  • High-temperature: Continuous 80–95°C, intermittent up to 120°C

  • Does not melt; excessive heat may cause hardening or elasticity loss

  • Low-temperature: Performs at –20°C to –25°C; special grades operate down to –55°C

Typical Applications

  • Wire & cable jacketing

  • Industrial gaskets, hoses, belts, tapes

  • Construction sealants and structural bearings

  • Foam products (wetsuits, insulation pads)

  • Adhesives, coatings, sealants

  • Automotive, machinery, and agricultural components

  • Extruded and molded products

  • Footwear, paper, and packaging products
