Vamac® Ethylene Acrylic Elastomer (AEM)

Vamac®, developed by DuPont (now Chemours/DuPont Specialty Materials), is an ethylene–acrylic elastomer containing small amounts of cure-site monomers.
It offers excellent heat, oil, and chemical resistance, making it widely used in automotive and industrial sealing applications.

Key Features

  • Heat Resistance: Continuous 150–175 °C; short-term up to 200 °C

  • Oil & Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to fuels, lubricants, ATF, diesel, etc.

  • Ozone & Weather Resistance: Maintains performance in harsh environments

  • Mechanical Properties: Good elasticity and low compression set

  • Processability: Compatible with standard rubber mixing and curing (compression, injection, extrusion)

  • Electrical Properties: Provides suitable insulation for wire and cable applications
