Vamac®, developed by DuPont (now Chemours/DuPont Specialty Materials), is an ethylene–acrylic elastomer (AEM).
It is a copolymer of ethylene and acrylic ester with small amounts of cure-site monomers.
Vamac® offers excellent heat, oil, and chemical resistance, making it widely used in automotive and industrial sealing applications.
Heat Resistance: Continuous 150–175 °C; short-term up to 200 °C
Oil & Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to gasoline, diesel, ATF, lubricants
Ozone & Weather Resistance: Stable performance in harsh environments
Mechanical Strength: Good elasticity and low compression set
Processability: Suitable for conventional rubber mixing and curing (compression, injection, extrusion)
Electrical Properties: Provides insulation for wire and cable uses
