Vamac®, developed by DuPont (now Chemours/DuPont Specialty Materials), is an ethylene–acrylic elastomer (AEM).
It is a copolymer of ethylene and acrylic ester with small amounts of cure-site monomers.
Vamac® provides excellent heat, oil, and chemical resistance, making it widely used in automotive and industrial sealing applications.
Heat Resistance: Withstands 150–175 °C continuously; up to 200 °C for short periods
Oil & Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to gasoline, diesel, ATF, lubricants, etc.
Ozone & Weather Resistance: Maintains performance under harsh conditions
Mechanical Properties: Good elasticity and low compression set
Processability: Compatible with standard rubber mixing and curing methods (compression, injection, extrusion)
Electrical Properties: Provides insulation suitable for wire and cable applications
