FUSABOND® is Dow’s line of functional grafted polymers used as compatibilizers or coupling agents in polyolefins and engineering plastics. With PE or PP backbones grafted with MAH, they enhance compatibility and adhesion with polar materials. They are widely used to improve the performance of wood–plastic composites (WPC) and wire & cable (W&C). The products are produced from ethylene–acrylic acid copolymers modified through MAH grafting.
Features
Acrylate-based polymer grafted with maleic anhydride (MAH)
Designed for engineering plastics modification, especially PA and polyesters (PET, PBT)
Improves compatibility and adhesion between non-polar and polar polymers
Significantly enhances toughness and low-temperature impact resistance
Provides good dispersion and stable processing
Applications
Engineering plastics modifier:
Compatibilization of PA, PET, PBT
Improved impact resistance and flexibility
High-filler composites: better bonding with GF, CaCO₃, wood flour
Automotive parts: durable, impact-resistant PA/PP or PA/PE composites
Electrical and industrial components: improved wear resistance, dimensional stability, and strength
