FUSABOND® is Dow’s line of functional grafted polymers used as compatibilizers or coupling agents in polyolefins and engineering plastics. With PE or PP backbones grafted with functional groups such as MAH, they enhance compatibility and adhesion with polar materials. They are widely used to improve wood–plastic composites (WPC) and wire & cable (W&C) performance. The materials are based on ethylene–acrylic acid copolymers modified through MAH grafting.
Features
Polyethylene-based MAH-grafted modified resin
Designed for halogen-free flame-retardant formulations; excellent compatibility with Mg(OH)₂, Al(OH)₃, CaCO₃, and other inorganic fillers
Improves processing flow and mechanical properties of FR cable compounds
Enhances cable flexibility and durability
Applications
Wire & cable (W&C): coupling and compatibilizing agent for halogen-free FR cable materials
Flame-retardant composites: increases bonding between PE and inorganic FR agents
Sheathing materials for industrial and construction cables
