DOW NUCREL® Ethylene/Methacrylic Acid Copolymer
NUCREL® is a thermoplastic resin series from Dow, made of ethylene/methacrylic acid (EMAA) copolymers. It combines the processability of polyethylene with the polar functionality of methacrylic acid groups, giving it excellent heat-sealability, adhesion, and chemical resistance. NUCREL® is widely used in packaging films, coatings, extrusion lamination, and related applications.
Excellent heat-seal performance: maintains reliable sealing even at low temperatures or in contaminated environments
Strong adhesion: bonds well to aluminum foil, paper, nylon (PA), polyester (PET), and other substrates
Chemical resistance: withstands oils, acidic, and alkaline substances
High clarity and toughness: suitable for premium packaging applications
Good processability: suitable for injection molding, extrusion, blown film, coating, and co-extrusion lamination
Heat-seal layer for high-barrier multilayer films
Vacuum and frozen food bags, liquid packaging pouches
Medical packaging materials and pharmaceutical foil seals
Adhesive layer for aluminum-foil lamination
Laminations of paper, metalized films, and plastics
Protective coatings and chemically resistant industrial films
