SURLYN® Ionomer Resin
SURLYN® is an ionomer resin produced by Dow, made from an ethylene–methacrylic acid copolymer. It is a tough, lightweight, and easily processed thermoplastic. Depending on the neutralizing metal ion, it is available in lithium, sodium, and zinc types. Generally, SURLYN® offers:

Good gas barrier performance
Easy processing, suitable for complex shapes
High transparency and good colorability
Strong resistance to oils and solvents
It is widely used in golf balls, sports protection gear, skateboards, perfume caps, cling films, heel counters, and lightweight foam applications due to its toughness, clarity, and chemical resistance.
