SURLYN® Ionomer Resin
SURLYN® is an ionomer resin produced by Dow, made from an ethylene–methacrylic acid copolymer. It is a lightweight, tough, and easily processed thermoplastic. Depending on the metal ions used for neutralization, SURLYN® is available in lithium, sodium, and zinc types, each offering different performance characteristics. In general, SURLYN® provides:

Its light weight and ease of processing also make it useful in foam and cushioning applications.
